Music is a beautiful language that mankind has been using to communicate ever since the beginning of Creation. It can be used to express the deepest and most heartfelt things that words sometimes fail to explain.
Music is so complex and mysterious that it can be studied for a lifetime and not be fully mastered. And yet it is so simple and easy that even a small child can make a joyful noise that touches the heart of both God and man.
My goal with all of my students is to help them grasp this reality in their music. I don't want my students to just learn to play the right notes at the right time. My desire with my students is that they learn to use music to express a beautiful, meaningful and edifying message with their music, both to God and to others around them.
I have over fifteen years of experience as a musician and teacher, and I draw from this experience to help each student discover their own strengths and weaknesses. What I love about private lessons is how I can then tailor our lessons to specifically help them develop as a well-rounded musician, and meet their own personal musical goals.
